MASTER CONTROL OFFICER

Master Control Officers fall under the Corrections division of the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office has 6 full-time master control officers and 6 part-time officers, responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the Champaign County Jail and its correctional officers through access control.


In addition to providing access control for the jail, master control officers also process paperwork such as criminal warrants and other LEADS information and frequently interact with members of the public. Attention to detail and good communication skills are crucial for this important role.


SALARY & BENEFITS


  • Starting Salary - $18.19/hr ($37,835)
  • Earned time off (vacation, personal leave, sick time)
  • Part of a Collective Bargaining Unit

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • at least 18 years of age
  • high school graduate or equivalent
  • no felony or certain misdemeanor convictions
